- Is there a cost of opening and closing a grave?
- Yes
- Opening and Closing cost for a regular burial
- Monday – Friday - $200.00
- Saturday Morning - $400.00
- City Holiday - $500.00 (The city does not open or close graves on Thanksgiving or Christmas)

- We do not take payment plans for graves or opening and closing costs.
- Can you reserve grave spaces without paying?
- We do not reserve grave spaces.
- What are the rules for monuments, markers, structures, Etc…?
- Only one monument shall be permitted on one grave space, except where a foot maker fitting flush with the ground is used. All monuments and markers erected in the City Cemetery shall be of granite, bronze, marble, or other approved material that is permanent in nature.
- No person shall place any monument or maker on any lot in the Stilwell City Cemetery without of the consent of the Cemetery Superintendent. Monuments may only be set from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
- No vault, tomb, catacomb, or structure partly or wholly above ground will be permitted; and any such structure now in the cemetery which, from neglect or faulty construction has become dangerous or offensive shall be removed by the cemetery Board and the bodies there of place in the same lot.
- All monuments and markers shall be places at the head of the grave lot and shall be placed on the center of the lot of grave space.
- What are the restrictions for flowers, ornaments, decorations, etc…?
- Fences, coping, hedges or other enclosures will not be allowed around lots or graves in Stilwell City Cemetery.
- Wood or iron markers, trellises, chairs, settees will not be permitted around lots or graves above ground level.
- Ornaments, glass cases, toys, shells, or other materials shall not be places on or around any grave.
- Gravel, stone, or other material such as stepping stones of any kind shall not be erected on around any grave.
- No flowers shall be left on the graves during mowing season for more than three days, except during Memorial Day and Decoration Day. All flowers will be removed during mowing season as the discretion of the Cemetery Superintendent for mowing purposes, only when necessary.
- No rods, pipes, or glass containers shall be around headstones or on lots that prevent maintenance of the Cemetery grounds.
- Caretakers shall be allowed to straighten leaning headstones without being liable. Caretakers shall take extra care in making any of these corrections.
- The Cemetery Superintendent shall have the authority to remove any dangerous or unsightly obstacles on cemetery lots.
- How long are flowers allowed on the ground?
- No flowers shall be left on the graves during mowing season for more than three days, except during Memorial Day and Decoration Day. All flowers will be removed during mowing season as the discretion of the Cemetery Superintendent for mowing purposes, only when necessary.
- We do not keep the flowers once picked up.
- Can I burry my pet at the City Cemetery?
- No. No interment shall be made of any remains other than those of human beings.

- The City of Stilwell Cemetery is non-denominational.
