A beautiful corner of Oklahoma, Stilwell is a rural community on the border of Arkansas, and two counties south of Missouri, with lots of nature and room to relax and a breath fresh air.
We are a community that moves at its own pace, and to the beat of its own drum, with Cherokees, pioneers, and a few outlaws in our colorful past, and statesmen and hero’s in the mix, too. We are generous people with big hearts who help neighbors in need. Fundraiser benefits have raised thousands of dollars for youth opportunities, and medical and burial needs, for example. Giving a hand up is what we do here, when possible.

Family is the focus with sports, recreation, 4-H, FFA, the public library, church and Beyond the Trail Cultural Arts District and more. A 9-Hole golf course is in progress at Carson Sports Complex. Farmer’s Markets on Saturday are places to visit with friends and neighbors, and so is Walmart.
Things to do range from playing at the creek, and all the fun of camping, swimming, kayaking and hiking. Corn hole, pickle ball, basketball and a 2 mile walking trail are ways to enjoy leisure time at various parks. A short drive up north on the state line of Arkansas and Watts, we have the new state of the art WOKA Whitewater Park with several levels of challenging to easy floating waves.
We celebrate several annual events in Stilwell, such as the Strawberry Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July Picnic, County Fair, Trunk O Ween and Christmas Parade.
Stilwell is a place where there are miles of back roads to ride bikes, 4 wheelers, horses, or hike, and smiles of warm welcome often greet you where you go.
