The City of Stilwell Public Works Street Department is committed to maintaining its streets in a safe and usable condition and efficiently managing an improvement program for the City's streets. The Street Department, along with the street mowing crew, also maintains alleyways, street right-of-ways, street signs (including stop signs, yield signs, neighborhood speed limit signs, etc.) and City sidewalks. It also provides pothole repair, drainage maintenance and emergency services when the City has severe storms and other natural disasters.
The Public Works Department serves approximately 1429 residential customers, 290 commercial customers, and has 180 dumpsters and roll-off containers.
Residential sanitation services begin promptly at 6:30 a.m. on their designated routes and days. These services cover trash collection, and by appointment, yard waste disposal, and limb pick up.
The City Sanitation Department endeavors to provide an efficient and quick method of trash collection that will decrease the amount of trash going to the landfill and lower worker-related injuries. We kindly ask that you keep the areas in front of dumpsters clear to facilitate the work of crews.
All trash must be bagged and put inside a container.
If you have a large amount of trash or branches that need to be picked up, please call (918) 696-7920. Someone will come out and inspect the items then give you the total amount due to pick it up. Once the payment has been made at City Hall, 20 South First Street, the items will be picked up. Special pick ups are done on Friday only.
Yes. First, we will send someone out to look at what items you have and will call you back to tell you about pricing. Pricing is done by the size of the vehicle we have to use or the number of pieces of furniture you have.
No. It's against the law for us to come onto personal property.
Your trash must be in any type of barrel or sturdy container with the trash in trash bags that are closed. We will not pick up any loose trash.
Trash collection will not occur on holidays. Customer's trash will be delayed at least one day. For example, if the holiday falls on a Monday and your trash is usually picked up on a Monday, your trash will be delayed until Tuesday. If your normal pickup is Tuesday, it will be picked up Wednesday and so on for the rest of the week. Any different days will be posted on our social media.
